I heard so much about this book in one of my college lit classes that I thought my high school English teachers had been remiss in not having us read it. So I picked up a copy when I was off one summer and tried to read it. It took me forever to get through and I really didn't understand all the hoopla that professor had made over it.
I suppose it might have been more relevant a commentary on the times if I had lived during that era. And I'm sure it has commentary on today. But overall I thought it was a weird book. Nick was more of an omniscient narrator than an actual character and I just thought Tom was the worst character ever. Ick. Daisy was sad and Gatsby was pathetic. A society without God...
