I read about the same in the summer as I do any other time, but I will confess to seeking out light, fun reads for vacation. My favorite vacation reading memory? Finishing Charles Martin's "The Dead Don't Dance" out on the balcony of our beach house we were renting with my in laws–and tears streaming down my face!

I read a lot year-round now, but I do some binge reading in the summertime on trips. I also don't really read anything different.

Since I teach high school, I read alot more in the summer. During the school year I am lucky to get my book club book read each month and if I do get a chance to read, it is usually a book related to what I am teaching next. I also tend to choose book that I want to read and not something I "should" or "need" to read.

Okay, so I'm late to the party… hoping there are still people around!

This summer it seems that my reading is slowing down a bit… with my oldest son home, I'm finding my attention occupied with kids even more than usual. Or perhaps it's that I haven't had a MUST-READ-AS-QUICKLY-AS-POSSIBLE book in a little while…

As far as 'summer reads'– eh, I just read the same stuff that I usually do: mostly novels, a few parenting books, middle grade/YA books with my oldest son, and a large share of picture books with my youngest two kids. Fun, fun!

I would have guessed that I read less in the summer, but this year it seems I'm reading more. Whether we're on the run, or just out back (where I'm supervising my 3-year-old), it's just easier to have a book than a computer, so I'm fitting in more reading time.

As for summer reads, I tend to look for things that are light, entertaining — maybe a culinary mystery.

I find that I make more time to read in the summer. We have quiet time each day after swimming lessons so I join in with a book. It really does help me feel refreshed and ready to face the afternoon when I take the time to sit down and read even a few pages. My favorite read this summer (so far) has been…hmmmm…well I LOVED The Kite Runner! I've also enjoyed Elin Hildebrand (easy reads) and of course Janet Evanovich's Number 15.

I used to read a bit more in the summer, but since getting hooked on USA Network's summer shows, I seem to read about the same year round.

I always read what appeals to me, but during the summer, I often think about rereading kid's books I enjoyed way back when. Never get around to it, but it crosses my mind.

Overall, my habits don't really change much. I read about the same amount I do the rest of the year. I suppose if I had kids who were off school for the summer, that might be a different story. The dogs don't really have any summer activities (its too darn hot here), so my schedule doesn't change much. ;D

But I do find that I tend to want to read horror and thrillers in the summer. I always joke its because its so hot here, I need something to give me chill.

I don't read different types of things in the summer — just whatever's next on my TBR pile. I do maybe read a little more because there's not much on TV, so I'll spend some of the evening unwinding with a book.

My reading habits really don't change much since my schedule doesn't change much.

As far as types of books go, I almost always read what I'm in the mood for at the moment, so no, that doesn't change, either.

I don't think mine have changed much, although I do think I read a bit less in the summer because my kids are with me 24/7. I don't read different types of books in the summer; I guess I am set in my ways year round!

Mine hasn't changed a whole lot. It's probably increased slightly as there is nothing on TV to watch. And I'm not crocheting as much as in the winter months.

I read whatever whenever. I don't go by any particular 'summer read' list. In fact, it's nice to read about a beach or Hawaii in the winter. Takes one's mind off the harsh weather.

I don't think my reading habits change all that much in the summer. I just try to cram in all the time I can, but it's usually an hour or some before I go to sleep at night.

I never have understood the concept of a "beach read." I don't really read certain books or types of books at any particular time of year…except the occasional holiday-type book in December. This year, though, I plan on reading Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes, October Country and Halloween Tree this October, which is something I've never done before. Maybe one of those would be a good pick for the bookclub that month?

I read a lot more in the summer. I am a teacher's aide and work from mid-August until amost June. Once school days are over I have a TBR pile just waiting for me. I love to sit on the front porch swing or on the back porch lounger and read all afternoon.

I don't have any specific must-reads. I get ideas from everywhere and keep a list in my purse for library visits.

I think right now my reading level stays about the same … I am anticipating that changing this fall when I start homeschooling. I figure my free time will be spent planning school and a little less reading, but I will definitely still make time for it.

I don't seem to have any summer must-reads like I do in the winter (cozy months).
