Thank you so much for this GREAT review! (Both of you!) I have to admit, I laughed out loud!

Here's a little bit of trivia for you... the mystery (revealed at the end) was pretty much a surprise for me, too. In all my research of the era (Stella and Valentine's) I found this one Southern issue I just finally admitted I could not avoid. I interviewed some folks from my home area who lived back then and found that it was such common knowledge, and yet no one did anything about it -- whether they agreed with it or not! Then, I read about the man who turned states evidence and added his true story to my plotline. It was not until after the book came out that I learned this man was FROM MY HOMETOWN! After he turned states evidence, his name was changed and he was moved ...never to see his wife and kids again (at least, not that I know of ...)

Sometimes truth really is stranger than fiction! :)

Now, for all of you who HAVE read the book ... you know what I'm talking about. For those of you who have NOT ... you'll have to read the book to find out! :)

From all the reviews I've read on Things Left Unspoken, it sounds like a great book. I've never lived in the South nor visited it. Would love to... All in all, the book's on my TBR list!
