My journey of words with Mabel has made me realize just how privileged are the people (myself included!)who enjoy the gift of literacy. At the same time, living in South Africa, many people are still illiterate, and have little or no access to books or proper schooling. Helping children read, even if it's only one child at a time, is a wonderful way of transforming this world and empowering less fortunate children. Thank you for your comments.
