During the Thanksgiving holidays, a friend pointed out that we, as a nation, spend a day giving thanks for our blessings, and at the stroke of midnight, we begin the most materialistic season of the year. I admit that I like buying Christmas presents, and I don’t intend to stop any time soon. My kids were given $20 each to buy whatever they wanted in the catalog. My son decided to spend some of it on the sports equipment. My daughter wanted something like chickies. She was confused thinking they would come here, but she’ll learn. I think it’s a wonderful way to get the kids involved.
