I’m a grandma who grew up on Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden. I think 4 yrs. old is too young for either of these. It’s not that there’s anything bad in them; it’s just that the themes are quite above a 4 yr. old — or even a 8 yr. old. There’s so much good lit for little ones — save this stuff for the late pre-teens or early teen years.

I found your site through Reading My Library and I’m so glad I did! This challenge sounds great! I want to join, but my oldest child is only four…maybe a little too young for these books? (I’m really not sure. DO you think four is too young for Nancy Drew? I can’t remember the series that well…)
