It doesn’t. It leaves out way too much. Definitely read the book first. I would have loved the movie had I never read the books, but I did so I was disappointed initially. After watching it a gajillion times, I have grown to like the movie too. But have a hard time seeing what they will do to make a sequel. They ruined the plot.

well, i’m actually an eleven-year-old kid and i LOVE the percy jackson series. but after seing the trailer, i’m not sure i want to watch the movie. they take a wonderful book and ruin it. the casting could have been way better. the annabeth they picked was 24 and percy was 18. even worse, “annabeth” had brown hair when it repeatedly says in the series she has curly blond hair. grover was waaay too confident. in the books, he’s supposed to be shy and timid. another this is that there were way too many parts changed around and left out. it might be an okay movie if it was called “bob and the three pearls” or something, but because its “based on the book” it looks like it sucks. I don’t think I’ll watch it because i won’t be able to bear seeing such a great book being destroyed.

My kids and I went to see the movie. We liked it but it didn’t do
the book justice at all

omigosh, i love the olympians book series! i’ve heard from several sources that the movie doesn’t live up to the book. i’ll check it out soon.

My 11 yo son (who has read the books) and my 9 yo daughter (who has not read the books) both really liked the movie. I did not. I felt like it left out, and changed, too much. I was disappointed.
