You have a good take on the movie as it relates to he book. I think the movie is really good, and I enjoyed it, but it was not a true representation of the book. I am not sure why the producers made so many changes. I guess we just have to enjoy each one for what it is!

I finally just watched Prince Caspian myself, and as a long-time, devoted fan of the books, I share your opinion about the changes.

I've never been a fan of this book (too long and boring.) And yes, I love the other six to pieces, almost literally.

So I was okay with this movie. I thought they actually took a mediocre book and made it entertaining. Yes, the romance and rivalry bothered me, but I still enjoyed it.

And I loved the first movie. I thought the changes were perfect for bringing the story to the screen. There was just too much they couldn't do that was internal conflict, especially with Edmund.

i too was disappointed in the rivalry between Caspian and Peter. I kept saying,"that's not the way it was!". now the special effects were great and yes, Lucy's role was right on. I do like the movie but.... =) The books always do it for me and I also listen to the audio book 3-4 times a year.

I'll never understand why Hollywood does the things they do. I rarely see a movie that I don't say "it was good, BUT..."

I guess I would find it insulting in the sense that it changes the book in a fundamental way. I don't like movies from books generally because of that. However on a personal level, I think it's cool to have a strong female character, that engages in battle or males that don't. We don't always have role models that differ from the stereotypes that we've been imbued with.
