As a child I enjoyed the books. As an adult, I loved visiting Prince Edward Island and exploring Anne’s world. The musical was fabulous.
I am looking forward to reading Anne with my little girl.

If I didn’t already agree with you I would be rushing out to get the books and movie. Have I mentioned that my friend Alicia (Experiencing Each Moment) and I held an Anne Movie Marathon one weekend in college? Too bad we’re on separate coasts (literally!!) or we’d do it again!

I completely agree with everything you said here! Anne is my hero. Heroine I guess.

Did you know there’s a movie about her young life coming out? Well, since LMM didn’t actually write that, it’s not based on her books exactly. But after watching the trailer, I LOVE the little girl who plays little Anne! I blogged about it if you’re interested.

Carrie, I’m a big fan of Anne myself. In fact, I mentioned her briefly yesterday in a blog post about the popularity of orphans in fiction. I alternately dream of a trip to Paris and a trip to Prince Edward Island.

Ok, not to be uptight, but can you be an Anne fan and spell her name without an E?
I loved Anne-girl as a girl myself, but my fav. Montgomery book is Emily of New Moon. Have you read that one?

When I first said I was reading Anne for the first time, someone said that the book is timeless. The movie is a bit dated, because you can’t forget the time period, but in the books you can. I thought that was interesting, but I think Amanda and I will have to watch it.

I am totally with you on every point, especially that atrocious third movie. That one might be classified as fanfic, but it is definitely not based on anything Anne except the names and location.

I’m so glad I haven’t seen the 3rd movie.
I’m a true Anne fan and have read through the whole series all the way up to the stories of Anne’s kids..but those just weren’t the same. I actually put movie 1 and 2 on my Netflix que as it’s been several years since I’ve seen them.
