I've read the book twice. I was able to identify with Audrey due to my separation last year. I was grieving the death of my marriage. The darkness and listlessness in the first few pages were essential to me. It was as if I was reading about myself. I loved how honest Audrey was about her faults, and how she accepted them as part of her. I too had been reduced to watching Law and Order reruns the first year. (Law and Order:CI) which gave me an ironic laugh. If this was a biography I would say that God sent her on the journey. That he had mapped it out specifically for her and her healing. As the song in the book says, "God bless the broken road that led me to you" (Jesus). This second time of reading showed me how much healing God has done in me during my broken road trip.
