Tell us who recommended it, why you wanted to read it, and what you thought about the book. Or tell us whatever you want — we’re easy with the guidelines here.

This is the last month that we are going to have the “I Read It” carnival. We are simplifying things a bit for 2011 so that we can focus more of our time and blog space on publishing reviews. We will continue to host What’s on Your Nightstand the 4th Tuesday of each month, and we will keep encouraging you to discover great children’s books with the 2011 Cybils Children’s Lit Challenge. Stay tuned next week for more information about that.

You can link up any review from the previous month where you mention a book you are reading at someone’s recommendation.

It would be nice if you point your readers to this page so that they can check out the reviews that others link up as well.

For ease in surfing, leave the title of the book in the linky, along with your blog name.

Non-bloggers are welcome to participate in the comment section.

Now that the weather is getting cooler, I hope that some of you have found more time or more motivation to snuggle up with a good book.

You can link up any review from the previous month that shares that information. If you don’t share that information in your reviews, then write a new post for I Read It! and link back to the reviews as you add in the information.

You can write an “I Read It” post that has links back to the books you’ve read and post that up (pointing your readers to this link-up so that they can find other reviews), or you can just link those reviews up individually.

We don’t want you to link up all your book reviews, just those that you made a mention of who made you read it. I think that this is the reason that most of us follow other readers — bloggers who read and review and recommend — because we learn to trust the recommendations of others. Sometimes we’ll disagree, and that’s okay too.

Someone, please. I’d like to at least live vicariously through you! I have probably still read more books than the average joe, but my reading has been way down the last two months, and it’s bumming me out. It’s been the busiest summer on record for me.

So, jump in the comments and tell me how your summer reading is going, and if you have read and reviewed some books, now is the time for you to let other bloggers (and readers web-wide) know what you’ve picked up at the recommendation of someone else. If a blogger wrote a review that made you run to the library or the bookstore, write up your own review, and give credit to the original blogger if you can remember who it was.

Now is the time for you to let other bloggers (and readers web-wide) know what you’ve picked up at the recommendation of someone else. If a blogger wrote a review that made you run to the library or the bookstore, write up your own review, and give credit to the original blogger if you can remember who it was.

If you’ve reviewed books throughout the month that someone recommended, you can write an “I Read It” post that has links back to the books you’ve read and post that up (pointing your readers to this link-up so that they can find other reviews), or you can just link those reviews up.

We don’t want you to link up all your book reviews, just those that you made a mention of who made you read it. I think that this is the reason that most of us follow other readers — bloggers who read and review and recommend — because we learn to trust the recommendations of others. Sometimes we’ll disagree, and that’s okay too.

If you read a book that we reviewed here at 5 Minutes for Books and have a different take on it — we’d especially love to hear it!

For some reason when Radical Homemakers first posted, the comments were turned off. We love comments, and especially when there’s a giveaway I know that you want to be able to leave a comment, so it’s all fixed now. Carrie LOVED this book.

Instead of only linking thoughts and reviews of books that we recommended here at 5 Minutes for Books or in our column at 5 Minutes for Mom, we invite you to share a review that you read at anyone’s recommendation.

You can link up any review from the previous month that shares that information. If you don’t share that information in your reviews, then write a new post for I Read It! and link back to the reviews as you add in the information.

It would be nice if you point your readers to this page so that they can check out the reviews that others link up as well.

For ease in surfing, leave the title of the book in the linky, along with your blog name.

Non-bloggers are welcome to participate in the comment section.
