What books are sitting on your nightstand -- or coffee table or in your bathroom in your e-reader or on your ipod? What books are you looking forward to reading this month when you get a nice chunk of time? Will back-to-school impact your reading for the month? I think that it will for me, but I'm not sure how. With my son starting first grade, this is the first year I'll have both kids in school full time. I also am hoping to get more work from home done, so while I envision myself reading away the hours on my back deck or front porch in the warm-but-not-hot September days, I'm not sure that's reality. What’s on Your Nightstand — July
All good things must come to an end. No, no, don't worry. What's on Your Nightstand is not one of them. We enjoy hosting and visiting around and participating in this monthly meme. But after being a part of the 5 Minutes for Books team since we launched two years ago, both Lisa and Carrie will be stepping aside from their roles as "staff reviewers." I've enjoyed working with them, and I've loved the variety that they've each contributed to our review base. What’s on Your Nightstand — March
Don't ask me what the weather is like right now, but last week we had the most beautiful week here in Connecticut. For me, that means an opportunity to indulge in my absolutely, hands-down, favorite activity: Reading a book on the back deck while I soak up the sunshine. It's not too cold, and not too hot. I'm outside so I feel as if I'm doing something other than just holing up and reading (not that there's anything wrong with that). And I can encourage the kids to come outside as well -- either with a book or some bubbles or sidewalk chalk -- and there's no denying that fresh air is good for them. What about you?
